What it’s like having your baby with JOGG

From the very beginning, we want you to feel supported – not just as a patient, but as a whole person (and family). Pregnancy is a huge life event, and it can come with a mix of excitement, nerves, questions and changes. You might feel confident. You might feel overwhelmed. Most people feel a bit of both – and that’s completely normal.

At JOGG, we welcome everyone. Whether you’re in a same-sex relationship, a solo parent by choice, gender-diverse, or part of a blended family – you deserve care that respects and celebrates who you are.

We take the time to get to know you and understand what matters to you. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, we’re here to offer clear advice, steady support and medical care that fits around your values and preferences.

Our care starts with a conversation. We ask how you’re feeling, what’s important to you, and how we can best support you and your family.

First obstetric appointment

When should I book in?

Some people see us while they’re still planning a pregnancy. Others call the moment they see that second line on the test. There’s no wrong time – but we usually recommend your first appointment between 8 and 10 weeks of pregnancy.

If you’re newly pregnant and unsure what to do next, just get in touch. We’ll help you feel more grounded and talk you through the next steps.
At your first visit, we’ll go through your medical and pregnancy history, organise any needed tests or ultrasounds, and start building a care plan that fits you and your needs.

Just bring:

  • Your Medicare card
  • Any medical records or scan reports
  • A list of your current medications
  • Your private health insurance details

Why mums choose JOGG

One of the most common things we hear from patients is that they feel seen here – not rushed, not brushed off, and always listened to. Our patients know they can reach us when they need to. We’re available, responsive, and we care deeply about making your experience a positive one.

Whether it’s the middle of the day or the middle of the night, you know exactly who to call.

Antenatal care Joondalup

What kind of care do we offer?

We support all types of births – whether you’re planning a vaginal delivery, caesarean section, or a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean). Your care plan is created with you, not for you.

Your antenatal care includes:

  • Regular pregnancy check-ups and detailed fetal wellbeing scans
  • Where possible, 3D scanning for reassurance and bonding
  • Remote foetal monitoring to keep an eye on your baby between appointments
  • Antenatal classes and lactation education
  • A dedicated midwifery team who know you and your preferences
  • Management of high-risk pregnancies including hypertension, diabetes, asthma and more

After birth: postnatal support

Just because the baby’s out doesn’t mean our care ends. We check in with you regularly during your recovery and offer midwifery-led home visits where needed.

We know that the early weeks can be intense – emotionally and physically – so we make sure you’re never left to figure it all out alone.

We stay with you long after the delivery. That’s the difference. You’re not handed off to someone new – we remain your team.

What makes care at JOGG different

It’s the little things that often matter most. At JOGG, we keep our patient numbers low so we can give you the time and attention you deserve. You won’t be rushed through appointments or handed off to someone new – you’ll see the same familiar faces throughout your care.

We’re obstetricians who also care deeply about communication, comfort and connection. We offer expert support for both low-risk and more complex pregnancies, and our in-house midwifery team is here to guide you through everything from birth preparation to feeding support.

Because we know you personally, your care is never generic. And because we’re always just a phone call away, you’ll never be left wondering what to do next.

That kind of continuity and calm can make a real difference to how you feel during your pregnancy – and how you look back on it after your baby is born.
